Explore The City of Dublin with us

An early flight with Ryanair took us to Dublin on a late morning.  A short bus journey to the city center, we got off at O’connell Street, the place was bustling.
O’connell Street
Dublin is full of attractions but it is a very expensive city.
We were tempted by the Hop-on-Hop-off but decided to use the free option and to discover the city on foot.
Dublin Gallery
Dublin Gallery next to the Garden's of Remembrance is free. Wonderful exhibitions.

St Stephens-green-shopping-centre

St Stephens-green-shopping-centre is a beautiful iron and glass building
dotted with myriad of little shops. Worth a visit, check out the clock in the middle.

The old Jemeson Distillery
The Old Jemeson Distillery is a must; experience the making of whiskey with this guided tour. The tour takes you through the distillation process and of course the tasting session.  The shop offers a good selection of small bottles (no worries about hand luggage).

Head to The National Botanic Gardens, there you will find an oasis of calm and beauty.  Next to the Gardens is, the Glasnevin Museum, the world's first cemetery museum, where over  1 million people are buried. We only managed to walk a small section. It would take a good hour or so to see everything.

The Black Church

As we were looking at the church a man came towards us and said: I want to see what you see! Then he told us: this is St. Mary’s Chapel-of-Ease.  It was built using calp stone, a dark-coloured material and now the church is known as The “Black Church”. It is now used an office building, shame we could not visit it.

Trinity College
Trinity College is Ireland's university, behind a huge wooden portal, lays an impressive building. You are free to wonder around.

There is much to discover while walking along the Quay and within the City. The Chester Beatty Library is a must. It is an amazing collection a treasure trove of great cultures and religions. It is the finest private collection in the world. When Chester Beatty was asked why he collected, he said " it was all a great adventure". There is also:
Dublin Castle, St Stephen Green, St Patrick's Cathedral for a Choral Evensong,  Oscar Wild Memorial, Whiskey Museum, Jeanie Famine boat, Famine Memorial, Henry Street Shopping and of course the Irish pub.

Perfect way to end a wonderful few days in Dublin,  a complimentary concert at the National Concert Hall
